August Burns Red has announced that they will be filming a live DVD, on June 4th in Manheim, PA at Warehouse 54.

The band is asking for fans as many fans as possible to show up, the film crew will be interviewing fans on the morning of June 4th. Want to be a part? Mike Portney fills in for Avenged Sevenfold once again.

Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy has announced that he will fill in on drums for Avenged Sevenfold’s upcoming tour dates through the end of 2010. Read his statement below.

After having had such an amazing experience recording my drum tracks for the new Avenged Sevenfold album, we all knew it would be awesome if I’d be able to do some touring with the band after its release…

I am happy to say that the timing worked out perfectly that my touring cycle with Dream Theater (and Transatlantic) was coming to an end just as A7X’s was scheduled begin!(well, perfect for everyone except my poor family! Although I wish I could stay on board with A7X in a more permanent capacity, the reality is that I am commited to Dream Theater as my main priority (that is my baby afterall!), and I will need to resume work with DT to start a new album at some point in 2011….However, I will be able to join my brothers in Avenged Sevenfold for at least the duration of their touring throughout 2010…and hopefully this will give them the time to continue to heal and get comfortable back on the road….You can look at me like the band’s “rebound drummer” to buy them some time until they are comfortable and ready to make a commitment to somebody new for full-time relationship in their future!

In the meantime, I am real excited to hit the road with the boys…to bring my drumming from their new album to life on stage and to honor The Rev with all of their older material….

(Hey, do I get to have a cool, bad-ass stage name now???) : )

Watain finish up new record

The fourth album from Swedish black metal titans Watain is now recorded.

Says vocalist E in an official missive: “I am now holding in my hand the final mastertape of what might be the most dynamic and charged Watain release ever recorded. The unveiling of Watain’s fourth monument will take place on June 7th, under ceremonial circumstances yet to be revealed. To tide followers over in the meantime, Watain will release a single entitled Reaping Death. It will be released as a 7″ picture EP on Walpurgisnacht. This single will feature the track “Reaping Death” from the album, along with a B Side exclusive for the EP.

Longway announce West Coast dates.

Longway has announced tour with, Broadway Calls, Cobra Skulls and The Flatliners

Over the last two years, LONGWAY has gone from a regional hero, to an impressive addition to marquees across the nation. Among the highlights of the band’s resume includes supporting runs with the likes of Bad Religion, The Briggs, Agent Orange, Horrorpops, Aggrolites, and consecutive treks on the Vans Warped Tour. This Spring, LONGWAY will join three of punk rock’s most promising prospects in The Flatliners, SideOne Dummy Records’ recording artists Broadway Calls, and Cobra Skulls for a brief, albeit powerful, run of tour dates throughout the West Coast. OLD SHOE RECORDS, along with media partner THRASHER MAGAZINE, along with LUCKY 13 Apparel, have teamed up to present the string of West Coast dates. Aiming to provide a solid punk rock bill at a reasonable price, the club dates serve as a blueprint for future tours from the bands, labels, and companies involved.
